Randall Lane
Editor and Chief Content Officer, Forbes
Randall Lane is the Chief Content Officer of Forbes and editor of Forbes Magazine, responsible for editorial content across all platforms, globally. He is based in New York and has developed some of Forbes’ most successful and enduring franchises including the Forbes 400 Summit on Philanthropy and Forbes 30 Under 30.
Lane began his career at Forbes in 1991 and served as reporter (five cover stories), staff writer and Washington bureau chief. In between, he co-founded two media companies, which between them launched a dozen media franchises, including P.O.V. (Adweek“Startup of the Year”), Trader Monthly and Dealmaker. He is the author of The Zeroes: My Misadventures In the Decade Wall Street Went Insane.
Lane has reviewed restaurants for various magazines since college (and was a National Magazine Award finalist for his wine writing). He recently cofounded the National Thoroughbred League, and owns the New York Knights franchise.
An Emmy Award winner, he sits on the boards of directors of Global Citizen and Columbia’s School of Professional Studies, and three boards affiliated with his alma mater, the University of Pennsylvania.
