What is Horizons?
Horizons is the premier national platform for ideas and action to drive equitable economic advancement for all. Horizons is where we find The Power of Us to collectively work towards our North Star. The Horizons summit is JFF’s flagship national event, where we reimagine the workforce and education landscape through inspiring conversations and interactive experiences with thought leaders in our fields.

When and where is the 2024 Horizons summit?
The 2024 Horizons summit will be on Monday, July 22, and Tuesday, July 23. The event will take place in person at the Marriott Marquis in Washington, DC.

What are the future dates and locations for the Horizons summit?
2025: June 10–11 in New Orleans, LA
2026: July 13–14 in Washington, DC
2027: June 22–23 in Philadelphia, PA

Do you have hotel rooms reserved?
We have a block of rooms available for registered attendees. Once you have registered for Horizons 2024, you will receive the booking information for the hotel.

Will meals be provided?
Meals will be provided at breakfast, lunch, coffee breaks, and a reception on July 22 as well as breakfast, lunch and coffee breaks on July 23. Please visit our agenda at-a-glance page for more information.

How can I request accessibility accommodations and/or services at Horizons?
JFF strives to make Horizons event spaces accessible to everyone who wants to attend. Please let us know how we can meet your access needs. If you have any further questions, please email us at horizons@jff.org.

How will the event be handling COVID-19 safety precautions?
The safety of our attendees is our top priority. We will be monitoring public health guidelines related to COVID-19 and will provide updates closer to the event. Jobs for the Future (JFF), as always, will be following guidance from local health departments and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) regarding large gatherings. Attendees will be required to follow the rules and regulations of the venue and the District of Columbia.

I am registered, but I am not receiving emails. What can I do?
If you believe you have registered for Horizons and are not receiving emails, please email the Horizons Planning Team at horizons@jff.org with your information and registration confirmation email.

Will any sessions be recorded?
Content is not livestreamed. Select sessions are recorded from the mainstage, breakouts, and our Vodcast stage, which will be available through our JFF YouTube channel or recorded sessions page following the event.

Will there be media and photographers onsite?
Yes, there will be media and photographers onsite. Please see the terms and conditions which are required for registration below.

How do I register for Horizons?
Registration is now open until capacity is reached. Please have your payment method ready, as your registration will not be complete until payment has been collected.

How much does registration cost?

Do you sell day passes?
We do not sell day passes or guest passes. Badges will be checked throughout the event.

Can I bring a family member?
All attendees must be registered. We do not provide guest passes for family members.

What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellation and refund requests for the Horizons summit must be made in writing by July 3, 2024 by contacting horizons@jff.org. A refund of the conference fee, minus a $100 administrative fee per person, will be applied to cancellations received by that date.
NO REFUNDS will be granted for requests emailed after July 3, 2024. Refunds will not be given for no-shows.

Do you have a nonprofit discount?
Discounted registration rates are no longer available. If the current registration rate poses a hardship, please contact us directly for assistance at horizons@jff.org.

Can I hold a spot for registration until I can pay?
We cannot hold spots for registrations. If you need time for approvals, please begin your process early.

How can I update my registration information?
If there are any changes to your registration, please contact the Horizons Planning Team at horizons@jff.org with desired modifications.

Can I give my ticket to a colleague or friend if I am no longer able to attend?
If you need to transfer your registration to someone in your organization, please use the “view or modify your registration” link in your registration confirmation email. Then, click the “transfer registration” button on the registration confirmation page. You will need to update all information, including dietary and accessibility needs.
All transfers must be complete by July 15, 2024. Onsite transfers will not be granted. Only one transfer is permitted for each original registrant. The individual submitting the transfer request is responsible for all financial obligations (any balance due) associated with that substitution.
Badge sharing, splitting, and reprints are strictly prohibited.

Will there be a waitlist if registration is full?
The Horizons summit is projected to sell out. We will open a waitlist on July 2 for those interested in attending.

Code of Conduct
Jobs for the Future is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all who participate in Horizons, the organization’s premier annual event.
Our goal is for this gathering to embody JFF’s culture of inclusion, which celebrates and equitably embraces diversity along multiple dimensions, including race, ethnicity, sex, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, national origin, socioeconomic status, religion, ability, culture, and experience.
Accordingly, JFF wants to take every measure to ensure that Horizons supports free expression and the exchange of ideas while creating a positive, safe, and productive environment for all.
This code of conduct outlines expected behavior for all attendees and includes protocol to address any disruptions or emergencies.
Expected Behavior
- Behave in a courteous and professional manner
- Treat all participants with respect, dignity, and consideration, in the spirit of valuing a diversity of viewpoints and opinions
- Be considerate, respectful, and collaborative in your communication and actions
- Discuss differences and critique ideas in a non-confrontational manner with due regard for the viewpoints of others
- Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior and speech
- Report inappropriate behaviors directed at yourself or others
- Acknowledge, if asked, that views expressed are those of the speaker and not of Jobs for the Future
Prohibited Behavior
Violations of this code include but are not limited to the following:
- Harassment—defined as unwelcome or offensive verbal, visual, or physical contact directed at any participant. This includes conduct, comments, or images that a person would reasonably find offensive, demeaning, or hostile.
- Sexual harassment—defined for purposes of this code to include unwelcome, unsolicited, and unreciprocated sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct or gesture of a sexual nature that has or that might reasonably be expected or be perceived to offend, humiliate, or intimidate another person
- Unruly or disruptive behavior—defined as actions that endanger the health or safety of yourself or others
- Discriminatory conduct based on race, sex, sexual orientation, gender expression or identity, transgender status, age, national origin, disability, religion, marital status, veteran status, political affinity, or any other characteristic protected by law
- Deliberate intimidation, threatening, stalking, or following
- Sustained disruption of portions of the conference or event
- Invasion of privacy
- Actual or threatened pushing, shoving, or use of any physical force whatsoever against any person
- Possession or use of a weapon or any other item in a way that may cause danger to others
- Destruction, theft, dismantlement, defacement, abuse, or intentional misuse of any property, equipment, signage, or supplies belonging to Jobs for the Future, Horizons staff, the Marriott, exhibitors, or contracted vendors
- Failure to comply with directions of Horizons staff or Marriott personnel regarding operations or emergency response procedures
- Retaliation against participants for reporting activity that they reasonably believed to be in violation of this code
- Knowingly and falsely reporting violations of this code in bad faith
- Accessing restricted or ticketed areas without a proper ticket, pass and/or credential; misusing tickets, passes and/or credentials; presenting a false identification; or permitting other people to falsely present another participant’s identification as their own.

Emergency Protocol
Horizons staff will be present in all major conference rooms. If you experience an emergency, witness unruly behavior or a disruption that puts the safety or well-being of participants at risk, please notify a member of the security staff at 202-824-9667. For medical emergencies please dial 9-1-1 first and then notify a security team member.

Jobs for the Future (JFF), as always, is following guidance from local health departments and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) regarding large gatherings. Attendees will be required to follow the rules and regulations of the venue and the city of Washington, DC.
Jobs for the Future (JFF) may be photographing, videotaping, audiotaping, or webcasting meetings and activities throughout the summit. Registration, attendance, and/or participation at any of these events constitutes an agreement by the registrant or attendee to these activities and to the use and distribution of the registrant’s or attendee’s image, likeness, or voice in photographs, videotapes, electronic reproductions, and audiotapes.
