Alumnus, Tennessee Prison College Coalition

Edward Jones, a dedicated advocate for justice reform, was born and raised in East Knoxville, TN. As a proud father of three, Edward has transformed his life experiences into a mission to support others who have been impacted by the justice system. After overcoming his own challenges following incarceration, Edward co-founded Double R Strategies, a consulting firm committed to promoting higher education, equitable pay, fair housing, and the restoration of voting rights for formerly incarcerated individuals. His work centers on providing resources and opportunities for personal and professional development, empowering justice-impacted individuals to transcend their circumstances and lead fulfilling lives.

Through Tennessee Higher Education Initiative’s radical hospitality and the collected efforts from Dismas, Edward has witnessed firsthand the transformative power of reentry programs. By offering radicalized hospitality and leveraging the lived experiences of those who have been incarcerated, he has seen how structured reentry initiatives can dramatically change lives. Individuals are not only equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed but also gain the confidence to overcome societal barriers. Edward’s plans to extend beyond advocacy; he actively engages with community leaders, policymakers, and other stakeholders to foster an environment that supports second chances and reduces recidivism. His efforts have helped numerous individuals rebuild their lives, reconnect with their families, and contribute positively to their communities.

Edward's passion and dedication to social justice continue to drive his efforts to create a more inclusive and supportive society for all. By sharing his journey and championing the voices of the formerly incarcerated, he aims to inspire change and offer hope to those striving for a better future.
