Ken is currently in charge of Strategic Partnerships for the Talent Acquisition Department at Union Pacific Railroad. He has been with Union Pacific Railroad for the past 16 years where he started as a Recruiter and has worked his way to Senior Manager and Director of Employee Relations. With the shortage of workforce talent Union Pacific created this position in 2021 to assist in building back talent pipelines and to identify nontraditional recruiting markets. Ken received his undergraduate from Southwest Texas State University and earned two master’s degrees from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. 

Prior to Union Pacific Railroad Ken worked for the Department of Defense for 8 years and was awarded the Civilian of the Year Award for the Department of Defense 4 consecutive years in a row. He also received the highest service medal from the US Navy that could be awarded to a civilian. His involvement in building teams and taking teams to the next level were the reasons for his honors. 

Ken is very involved in many community organizations and has presented on different HR topics on the state and national level. He is currently serving on several advisory boards and is looking to expand his knowledge in Second Chance Hiring.
