Changes for the future

Wednesday, June 8
Morning Plenary | 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM

I grew up on the south east side of Chicago, over a troubled past, I overcame every obstacle that came my way. No matter how many times I was told I couldn’t do it, I proved to myself I could. I changed careers and went back to college and became a women welder on the trades. It didn't stop there. I finally landed a once in a lifetime opportunity and got into the boilermakers union local 374. I also love art and love to push myself to limits I didn't know I could face.

I always knew the system turns the other cheek for people coming out of the system. I was one of them but since then and now I have been an activist of equality and giving felons a second chance. One mistake shouldn’t cost you the rest of your life. I want to help women and men to find a career regardless of their past and be the best version of themselves.
